Frequently Asked Questions

How much does bespoke picture framing cost?

1

Every bespoke framing job is priced individually because the cost depends on the size of your piece, the frame style, the mount, the glass and the level of conservation protection needed.

As a guide, a small, simple framing job may start from around £45. Larger pieces, premium mouldings, specialist mounts or museum-grade glass can cost several hundred pounds.

The best way to get an accurate price is to bring your artwork, photograph, textile or keepsake into the gallery. Natasha and Odessa will talk you through the options, explain the differences clearly and give you a no-obligation quote before any work begins. Every budget is welcome.

No appointment is needed. Just come in during opening hours — Tuesday to Saturday 10am–4pm, Sunday 10am–2pm — and Natasha or Odessa will help you. If you'd prefer a quieter session, call ahead on 01227 831 011.

Do I need an appointment?

Standard bespoke framing usually takes 3–4 weeks. If you need something sooner, ask about our fast turnaround service — we’ll always do our best for urgent requests. We’ll give you a clear collection date when you drop your piece in.

How long does picture framing take?

3

Almost anything. We regularly frame original fine and contemporary art, photography, prints, sports memorabilia, signed shirts, textiles, embroidery, medals, certificates, maps and 3D objects. If you’re unsure, just bring it in — we’ll talk you through what’s possible.

What types of items can you frame?

4

What is museum-grade glass and do I need it?

5

Museum-grade UV-filtering glass helps protect artwork from fading caused by light, with a virtually invisible finish that enhances colour. We recommend it for original artwork, photography and anything of sentimental or financial value. We’ll explain the options clearly so you can decide what’s right for your piece and budget.
